What lies behind us and what lies ahead of us are tiny matters compared to what lives within us. ~Henry David Thoreau
Please note that an earlier post relating to Briggs Gully is incorrect. The Finger Lakes Land Trust only owns a portion of the gully and much land remains in private hands. Please respect the rights of private property owners and do not trespass in this and other privately owned gorges. Trespass in these areas can make the long-term work of the Land Trust to secure these areas even more challenging. If you’d like to learn more about the Land Trust’s holdings and its efforts to protect Briggs and other gullies, please contact its office in Ithaca at (607) 275-9487. Thanks!

Thanks for the post, Jim. Just for clarification, if one were to want to creekwalk in this gully, what is off limits? The whole creek? Just the upstream portion by the falls? Just the lower portion by the road?

Came in from road to the north where there was a trail. It's been a few months now, but recall a trail head sign that may have been FLLT.
No one has posted a waterfall in a while, so why not? A few autumn shots finally converted. A peaceful waterfall. Nice hike that was private and filled with large trees (cbobcat49 that tree is huge/wide) and a small sense of yesteryear.Feels untouched.

Pretty certain is was off Wesley Hill Road. I recall a two post sign with a map of the trails.
