I'm very interested to know if any of you have seen one this winter, or even better - been able to photograph one? I've been out looking once, but all I got was cold.

Please share any tidbits of info you have!

I don't think I've seen a snowy owl in the wild - ever. Barn & screech owls maybe (wasn't quite sure) but never a snowy one, that would be cool.

Indeed it would. They are gorgeous birds!

The odds are more in our favor this year than in recent years.

And the cool thing about these guys is that unlike most other owls, they are awake when we are and sleep at night!

I was lucky enough to find two this year. They seem to be very abundant from what I have read and pics posted.

Here I have an immature on the hay bail and one mature. The mature one has been in the same area and seen on the same fence since Christmas.
