had this guy yesterday morning in my garden. Normally they are hiding in the higher branches of the trees, but this one rested perfectly in reach for taking a picture

Anyone know what this guy is? He's about 1/4 inch long and has a covering like a kiwi fruit. Can't find anything even close in my books . . .
