Did you see the article about it in The Conservationist? There was a photo of the otter. My husband and I agreed that we need to make a trip up there, maybe during one of the weekends that it's open in Oct.

yeah, I saw that article, but couldn't see anything on their website about their "resident otter."

My wife loves otters, and wants to see one. I just found out the Rochester zoo has a few on display.

i know its far away, but the National Zoo in Washington DC has/had an exhibit called the Asia Trail, and had some native otters. they were amazing! so playful and social, there were about 5 of them in the same exhibit. and they not only interacted with eachother, but with us observers. they would come up to the glass and observe us as much as we were observing them. amazing creatures!!

The otters are at the wildlife center in Tupper Lake. It's just opened on July 4, 2006.

I missed this thread some how.

I've been to the museum a few times, it's a nice place to learn about the Adirondack life style and see the way buildings and such were built. The have a section on logging too.

I've haven't been to the wildlife center yet but will get there someday. Here's the link to their home page wildlife center
