Specs on the gopro 4

As expected... the high end resolution framerates are improved. I could care less about the Electronic Image Stabilizer. I think that's best done in post.

HDR? oh... wonderful. Now Youyube will be filled with grotesquely colored imagery like flickr is.

Just returned from a wedding weekend in Phuket, an island in southern Thailand. My wife and I took a full day snorkeling trip on Saturday to the Similan Islands, a group of nine islands in the Andaman Sea with arguably some of the nicest diving in the world. Our trip included about 1-1/2 hours of snorkeling, and in that time we saw some amazing life. I'll be putting together a short highlight video, but in the mean time here is a few screen caps showing some of the creatures we ran into.

It's amazing how well the gopro does underwater. Sharp, accurate color, perfect exposure, even when changing quickly form shadows to light, and the frame rate is impressive too.

Note that I ran the video through a minor color filter adjustment to lessen the blue cast. Without a filter on the camera you really have to do something in post if you want anything close to accurate colors.
