I still have plenty of Hummers about. They have been extra pesky lately, chasing around the Chickadees and Goldfinches in a manic manner. They are so darn obnoxious.
It's still summer to me if my AC is running.. :)

I'm already starting to think of winter Finches, hoping some of the irruptive species return in big numbers this year.

They're pretty much gone here, though I'll leave the feeders up for several more weeks for transients. I mentioned to Kelly how aggressive they were last week. They were having full-on smack downs! They acted as if they were bulking up for the trip.

I saw a couple after my post on 9/3, but we kept the feeders up until around the 20th. I do hate to see them go.

I know that it doesn't seem possible, given our weather so far this spring, but it's time to get those feeders up! Mike is boiling up some nectar (4 parts water to 1 part sugar) and washing the feeders as I post this! There have already been a few sightings reported in upstate NY. I always enjoy watching their progress north on this site: Hummingbird Migration Map Be sure to contact them with your first sighting too!

Thanks for the reminder, Brenda! I just put my water on the stove!
