8 - the number of crates of clementines I've gone through so far this season.

17 - the square root of the house number of the house I grew up in. Which may or may not have anything to do with the fact that I've always been drawn to this number throughout my life. For example, it immediately pops into my head when someone says something like, "pick a number, any number."

12 - the number of eggs I hard boiled this morning

10 - the number I have left

and a tangential anecdote:

Many years ago, when my boys were, maybe, 8 and 3.....the neighbor lady, who had just had baby #3 asked my 3 year old if he would like to have a baby brother or sister too. His reply, "I would, but my mom's all done layin' eggs."
