I've never entered, but I love the issue each year.
Here are the results:

Grand Prize:
Seneca Harbor winter – Watkins Glen
Gary DeMuynck • Dundee
My favorite:
Bubbles and shadows in the ice – Geneva
Daniel Schle gel • Webster
I consider this one of the best natural abstracts i have seen. Absolutely love it.
The last 3 HDR pics... not a big fan of, but still nice.
LITFL 2011 Contest results are in. Thoughts?

Saw the results in print a few days ago and couldn't take my eyes off the Grand Prize winning shot. It's fantastic.(Though it seems to miss being level by a hair or two.) I also really like the abstract/bubbles. Overall great choices. It would be fun to see all of the entries.
I don't like the digitally altered winners at all - but appreciate the gesture of making a category for them.

Got my mag yesterday, and once again kicked myself for not sending in at least one photo. Overall they are nice, but I think I like last years selections better. Didnt Chris Tennant (Taughannock B&W) post here once or twice in the past?

It seems like the Grand Prize winner needs to be aimed down a bit so there's less sky at the top and the lower icicles are fully framed. I think it's an example of where the rule of thirds falls short.
The abstract is fantastic.
