We passed through Pottsville, PA on the way back from the Philly area last month. I've got a head start on pahistoric.com :)

This Yeungling Ice Cream building was nearby. I wonder if they had to diversify during prohibition?

Pottsville is also home to to the 1925 NFL champion Pottsville Maroons! :football:

Dang! What one is it? You can send me the photos and maybe we can add them if they provide a different view or more information! Just label them with the required photo credit! We like collaboration!

those are great. I had no idea they were the oldest. I have never had the beer.

from their own website:
What did Yuengling do during Prohibition?
During Prohibition Yuengling made near-beer which was .5% alcohol, much like the non-alcoholic beers are today. The brewery also opened a dairy called the Yuengling Dairy. Here they made ice cream and other dairy products.

Why did the Yuengling Dairy close?
The Yuengling Ice Cream and Dairy Plant closed in 1981. The family that ran the dairy had different interests causing the demise of that portion of the business.
