Hmmm....what are the flowers? Even though you don't think they are coming to your feeder, do you still change the food every couple of days? Yes, It's possible they just haven't found you yet . . . Maybe as they try to fatten up for their fall journey you'll have some visitors.

Boy, now that the kids have fledged we can't keep our feeders full. It makes them easier to clean when they're emptied that fast though.

Once they find your feeders, your flowers will get more attention too.

I developed the garden last season, before that there was basically nothing just a boring backyard.
Will extend it next year a little bit. I guess the hummers just don't know.
It also took a while for the other birds to appear regularly.

I'm hoping for next year and until then I enjoy all your lovely hummingbird shots.

Yvonne, they seem to love this plant. Don't know if you're familiar with it. Lantana, an annual. I have it in hanging baskets near my feeder. Might be worth a try next year!

Kelly, what a beautiful shot again. Wow...

This year I didn't have any Lantanas, had them last year. I have two butterfly bushes, a couple of Salvia, Sage, Delphinium and Phlox.
But nothing so far. I will extend my garden next year and will plant more hummingbird attracting annuals and perennials. I guess the little hummers really don't know that there is something waiting for them.
But at least the number of bumblebees has increased dramatically, so I still have hope for next year.
