Paging Mr. Paige......(or a reasonable facsimile)
A new visitor to my yard...
Have not ever seen or heard adult mockingbirds here, so I'm hesitant to ID it as a juvenile mockingbird.....but that's my best guess. An additional bit of information: he puked up what looked to be a peanut while I was photographing him!
Noisy pic through a window.....but does anyone know for sure? Thanks!

I wonder if anyone can identify this duck for me.
This was taken at the marina at Sodus Point last weekend.
The Bay is full of Mallards...and I even saw a family of Mergansers a few weeks ago...but this one has me stumped.

I have used an app on an iphone to call birds when shooting.

This contraption is a bird calling device from 1890

Speaking of which, that section is in development. I may need your help with identifying species as photos trickle in.
Just trying to tidy up old posts, but keep getting sidetracked reading all the juicy stuff I missed before I joined the party. Are you still considering this as a possibility down the road? You've got more than a couple of community members now who could help you get tweeting.

Great year for bird watching at backyard feeders. Sometimes I just dirty some dishes so I can stand at the sink and wash them as I look out the back window at the birds - and not feel guilty for just sitting by the window and watching.

Anyway - just saw a new bird to the yard.....a Winter Wren!

Have any of you suburbanites ever had a pileated woodpecker visit your suet or other feeders?
