They are walking the gorge trail tomorrow to see if it is safe.
If it isn't they will open part of it.
I'll call again tomorrow and recheck.

The good news: The Gorge trail is now open.
The bad news: only a 3rd of it is open :(

I saw the gate was open. Thanks for the update. Any word on when they will open the rest?

I was always under the assumption that the delay in opening the gorge trail was because of snow and ice. Are the trail and stone steps still icy now in early May?? Or is it something else... like debris from the winter, like gravel and sediment that melted out of the snow that's still on the trail that they've got to clean off.

the probably have to remove fallen rocks, trees and rebuild sections of the trail. I would guess the flooding weeks ago would have caused a lot of damage.
