salted cured pork on sweet pastries is the norm in china. Every bakery has it and it's a common topping on donuts.
I couldn't do it.
I guess I can see how it will work.
Has anyone tried that chocolate with bacon on it? I thought it was horrendous.

We used to have pancakes & bacon all the time. It was best when you smother the pancakes in maple syrup, then cut off a piece and wrap it around a piece of bacon, very yummy.

105-Year-Old Woman Says Bacon Keeps Her Alive
By Kristene Quan
May 09, 2013

What’s the secret to an extra-long life? For one centenarian, it just might be bacon.

A 105-year-old Texas woman, who became a widow at age 38 and worked as everything from a cotton picker to a hay baler while raising 7 kids on her own, says bacon is the secret to her longevity, the Huffington Post reports.

“I love bacon. I eat it everyday,” Pearl Cantrell told NBC affiliate KRBC when asked her secret to living so long. “I don’t feel as old as I am. That’s all I can say,” Cantrell added.

The great-great-grandmother, who lives in central Texas and still dances – some of her favorites include country dancing, waltzing and two-stepping – celebrated her 105th birthday recently with a three-day event that included more than 200 guests. Although Cantrell retired decades ago, she kept mowing her own lawn until the age of 100, according to the West Texas Tribune – a heart-healthy habit that probably helped keep her going as well.

When Oscar Mayer found out about Cantrell’s love of cured pork, they sent one of its Wienermobiles to her home with a special bacon delivery. The bacon-lover rode “shot-bun” in the Wienermobile through her hometown of Richland Springs, Texas, ABC 7 News reported.

Chocolate Bacon Bomb Pie

3 cups pretzel twists (you can use whatever pretzels you have, I used twists)
2/3 cup sugar, divided
1 stick of butter, divided
1 package Fudge Stripes Dark Chocolate Cookies from Keebler (11.5 oz)
12 oz package of bacon, cooked and diced (1/4 cup reserved)
3 eggs
1 TBSP vinegar
1 TBSP flour
1/4 cup chocolate chips
1 can sweetened condensed milk
Preheat your oven to 350.
Crush your pretzels and in a large bowl combine them and 1/3 cup melted butter and 1/3 cup sugar. Mix to combine.
Press the pretzel mixture into a pie plate and bake for five minutes.
In the same large bowl (no need to clean it out) crush your chocolate cookies. Now add the remainder of the butter (melted), the bacon (remember to save 1/4 a cup), eggs, vinegar, and flour and mix well.
Gently pour the mixture into your pie crust.
Top with the remaining bacon and the chocolate chips.
Pour the sweetened condensed milk over it and bake for 35 minutes or until the edges of the pie begin to turn golden brown.

FYI - I made that pie and it was HORRIBLE.

Here's a strange one. I wonder how long this was on the market!

I think wegmans sell bacon that's pre-cooked and you either microwave it or pop it in the toaster oven. I think the toaster bacon could actually work these days.
There was one product that was a french fry waffle about the size of a slice of bread, pre-cooked and you pop it in the toaster. A pair of crispy waffle fries in a matter of minutes. I used to eat them all the time. Thank God they don't make them anymore.
