Thanks for the concern. The trails were maintained pretty well, just some parts are quite narrow and the soil is soft and loose.

Do either of you know what is going on in the river?

Most likely streambed reconstruction from the aftermath of Hurricane Irene.

Thank you David. There is so much in the Lake Placid area to take pictures of. It was hard to balance wanting to stop and photograph vs. my wife wanting to get to our destination :)
