I just got back from a waterfall tour in upper Michigan that I took in mid June. Most of the time the weather was overcast, so I got some decent photo results. I shot half my pictures in RAW, but it doesn't give me the option to zoom in on the image after I took a photo. I added the new pictures to my website if anyone's interested.

Lots of great photos there. Are you finding RAW any better than what you have been doing?

Thanks Matt!

Besides not having the ability to zoom in on a photo after you just took it and the large file size, RAW does give you the advantage of being able to adjust the exposure if you think the water looks too bright. It also gives you the option to change the white balance after you take the picture. With waterfalls, I like that even lighting, so most of the time I use either auto or daylight. I will certainly continue to use RAW, but it will be at a 50% rate because I like the fine option since you can zoom in on photos after you take them.

I was born and raised in Michigan and the farthest into the UP that I have got was St. Ignace. Someday I want to vacation in the UP and see Copper Harbor, Isle Royale and all of these beautiful falls.
