Since I leave for Yellowstone in a few weeks I purchased the Canon Vixia HG20. It has some nice bells and whistles. Now I need a new computer to handle the HD...lol.

Actually we are driving, so we have plans to camp our way there through the Badlands, Mt. Rushmore, and Devil's Tower. We are camping a few days in Yellowstone and one day we are staying at the Old Faithful Inn. One more day in the Tetons and then back home.

The Tetons are absolutely stunning. I'd love to visit Badlands someday.

sounds good, we enjoyed Alaska on a tour package so we're doing the same this time.
We'll be visiting: Jackson, Yellowstone, Cody, Deadwood, Tatanka, Black Hills, and Keystone.

Camera Model: Two Kodak camera's - Z1015 and M893; and my first DSLR - Olympus E520
Location: Rochester, NY

Matt,
I picked up an Oly E520 last fall when Circuit City went out of business. It is my first SLR. I have since picked up the 70-300mm lens for it. I am loving the images much better than the Kodak, even the Z1015. But I am having slight problem with it, and am not finding anything in the manual or on-line and wondered if you may know, given how your prior posts talk about your love for the Oly! :) Last weekend while at my family reunion, I was taking family shots and had the camera set on portrait. The flash was repeating 5-6 times before taking the picture, almost like a strobe and blinding people. I switched it to auto and it still happened. We were in a hotel conference room, with some windows to my right, and flourescent (sp?) lights overhead. I wondered if there may be a pre-flash setting somewhere that I can't find, or another setting somewhere that I need to reset. Have you ever experienced that, and if so, what is the solution? I have many shots of people with closed eyes as they couldn't tolerate the flashing.  I ended up pulling my little Kodak pocket point and shoot out so I could at least have images to share with my family.

Any insight is most appreciated!
Thanks,
Eileen
