you can see the depth of the water at the crest is really not thick (at least not at the point this photo was taken)... about 6 inches.

Here is something I've always wondered. The water in Niagara falls seems to have the color of green glass. In most other falls,the water looks blue or clear. Is there something to this, or is this just my imagination?

I've noticed the finger lakes take on an aquamarine color under certain light conditions in the winter, especially shallower areas.
