Since fall is here and I assume most of us have bird feededs, lets take some picks and see how many different birds we get
White crowned sparrow
House Finch ?

Nice shots. Yup, that would be Mr. House Finch. The usual fall visitors are showing up here now as well. I actually shot a close up of a Chickadee a few days ago, but the little bugger turned his back on me at the last minute. I like the idea of seeing how many different species we can photograph this fall/winter. I haven't filled my feeders yet, because we've just been hanging the dried sunflowers from the trees and replacing them as needed!
A couple more
White Breasted Nuthatch
Slate Co;ored Junco
Some of the birds that visited this year...
Chickadees and Sparrows mostly, but I had two Red-Breasted Nuthatches that seemed to yell at me when the seed was gone.

nice pictures Chris,
what zoom lens do you use and how far away from your feeders?
I have an 18-135 and i was about 15 feet away from the feeder and 40-45 feet from the Ceader tree.

AF-S VR 70-300 IF-ED
can't waite to use it
I still haven't had any luck getting photos, but I have a suet cake hanging outside my office window that's seen a lot of activity; namely Downy & Hairy Woodpeckers, Titmice and Blue Jays. The Downy Woodpeckers seem the least affected by my presence.
Mike came up with a good use for the empty pedestal from my bird bath, now that the "tub" had to be put away for the winter. One of our friends/neighbors recently dropped off a half a dozen huge bird seed blocks (8" x 8"?) and they fit perfectly on top of the bird bath pedestal! It's a great way to keep the blocks up off the ground so they don't get wet and fall apart.
