aha. From the top - opposite side of the gorge. I was wondering what you meant by that. That looks like it would be great for ice climbing in the winter.

It's a long hike to Rainbow falls, but well worth it. If you are going to visit, it's best to do in spring or fall as it's sometimes just a trickle in summer.

I know this is an old post but I wanted to add a picture I took of this waterfall a few years ago. We had gotten a lot of rain so the falls were spectacular! Sorry for the poor quality picture, I only had an old point and shoot at the time.

Very nice, you must have hit them just right to get that amount of water and the light in the right place to get the bottom of that gorge not in deep shadow, which is how it usually is when I've been there. The spray from these is enough to make that little area almost a rain forest-like ecosystem.
