This past weekend I took a bike ride along the Mohawk River to Fort Plain and camped overnight. I then rode to Johnstown/Gloversville, Amsterdam, then back to Rotterdam Junction. I'd picked the route to stop at waterfalls along the way, but while riding I came across several surprise falls I didn't know about and didn't expect.

One was a waterfall at a rock quarry. It flows for very short times during spring run off and after very heavy rain. Naturally the quarry isn't going to let people on the site for a closer look, so I took this from the road. The quarry is opposite Lock #10 of the Barge Canal. 42.915716, -74.141842.
