I am strong, because I've been weak.
I am fearless, because I've been afraid.
I am wise, because I've been foolish.

I want to know where it is that people say "Oh, the Devil is beating his wife outside today, better bring your umbrella."
And have those people locked up.

That's uncanny. Given the number of different influences that I have/had, I really expected some ambiguity. Nope. Spot on.

Interesting. I didn't get that in a question.....seems everyone gets a bit of a different random mix of 25. But, as you could probably predict - this video confirms it's the South. :woo:  :drink:

I've heard that devil beating his wife thing, but didn't get that question. Same as the name for a mountain lion, the older folks up north who might use the devil-wife phrase also call a mountain lion a painter, but I never did. So, it's not just a southern thing. Anyway, it zeroed me in pretty good.

So, do any of you know what the phrases "Going to visit the widow" and "Going to see a man about a horse" mean? Since the activity they both refer to is pretty rare nowadays, in the strictest sense, not many people use it anymore. Well, the actual activity still occurs quite a lot, just the location and circumstance has changed.
