Making huge prints

I use the Genuine Fractals plug-in to upscale images prior to making large prints. 200 dpi is the target for anything 2 feet or larger. Upscaling software will use algorithms rather than square pixels to enhance detail and maintain lines when an image is enlarged.
100% crops of an 600 to 3300 pixel enlargement.... that's 5.5 times larger:

You also have to keep in mind that large prints are meant to be seen from a distance, and that you don't really need a lot of detail up close.
