Take the name of your favorite pro football team
and surround it with the sports tags for a special smilie:
giants

Code: Select all
[sports]giants[/sports]

You must lose all lowercase letters. Some abbreviations may work: pats, bucs, etc

pats

Code: Select all
[sports]pats[/sports]

This will be a work in progress...
A new map function will make embedding maps easier.
It's easy:
Type an address, GPS coordinates, or place name
Then put one of these line thingies | right after it and type what you want the label to be.
Highlight that and hit the MAP button, which will surround it with tags.
In the first tag, put the zoom level after the = sing
1 is the whole world, and I think the highest it will go is 18.
Hit preview to see how you map will look before you post it.

Code: Select all
[map=16]frontier field, rochester|Play Ball[/map]

We have a set of new features I'm sure the regulars will use frequently
Near the top of the main page, you have some new controls:
View unanswered posts - puts together a list of topics that have no replies yet. :(
View new posts - shows the posts since you last logged in.
View unread posts/You have no unread posts - shows the posts you have read yet.
Mark forums read - will mark everything as read.

Also adds a 'Mark post as unread' link at the bottom of each post and a mark pm as unread link at the bottom of each private message as well as a folder in the private messages part of the UCP for unread pms.

Yeah... I know... awesome features.
:thankyou:

Use the move tag to scroll anything around the screen.

Movin' on up!

You can use "up" "down" "left" "right"

Example:
Code: Select all
[move=up]Movin' on up![/move]

Going up

moving over
To become truly immortal, a work of art must escape all human limits: logic and common sense will only interfere. But once these barriers are broken, it will enter the realms of childhood visions and dreams.

A new way to post images (IMG2)

Postby Matt » Thu Jan 08, 2009 1:32 pm

Introducing the img2 tag.

Post any size photo (even huge ones) and it will show in the message scaled down to a maximum width of 600 pixels (a size that should fit on the average monitor)
Users can click it to see the larger version.

When posting images, just add the "2" to the IMG tag and viola!

Example:

The black border is put in by the tag and helps indicate that the photo is usig the img2 tag and may be enlarged.

Here's what the code for the above looks like:
Code: Select all
[img2]http://www.nyfalls.com/posts/outings/11-08/45-large.jpg[/img2]

the issue with this tag is that the internet browser the user is using now controls the scaling.... so it may not look optimal in some (internet explorer 6/7 sometimes will look overly sharp). I works great in Chrome and Firefox. It does not increase the size, so it won't do anything for images with widths less than 600 pixels.

On a side note, attachments will also now be displayed at a larger size of 600 pixels wide.

Type a city and a state separated by a comma and surround it by the weather tag for a 5-day forecast.

Here is the forecast for Antelope,CA, where member Vinceclortho lives
antelope,ca 5-day Weather forecast

Code: Select all
[weather]antelope,ca[/weather]
