Anyone been to Moonshine Falls? It's in Beard Gully on the eastern shore of Cayuga Lake, along State Route 90 between Long Point State Park to the south and Great Gully and the village of Aurora to the north.

We were there a few summers ago and had a tough time finding access where there weren't any posted signs. We found a way in on the north part of the road but that only got us to the crest of the falls. It got too late but I did find a way in for a view of the falls for "next time" Go in on the south part of Moonshine Rd., go into the forest well downstream from the falls and then work your way upstream. I noticed that there's a photo pf this falls in Derek Doeffinger's book. (not sure if yuo have that one Matt.) It looks pretty spectacular.

Moonshine Falls and Pokey Moonshine Falls are two different falls in New York.
For pics of Moonshine Falls on the eastern shore of Cayuga Lake, see http://community.webshots.com/album/165142298IHvIWQ. These pics are taken from above, consistent with the previous post that access to the gorge may be difficult.
Pokey Moonshine Falls is out by Dansville, not far from Letchworth. See http://naturalhighs.net/waterfalls/fall ... llower.htm
