Tattoos

Postby Matt » Mon Mar 03, 2008 1:42 pm

I'm tattoo-less- and will probably remain so. I just don't feel the need to "tell my story" or show how much I like woody-woodpecker on my arm. I like watching those tattoos shows on the learning channel, but I can't help but feel them as unnecessary and ugly in a lot of cases.
Who's got one? Of what? Where?

I love checking out bad tattoos. there are several photos circulating online that are pretty funny. I'll try to track them down.

Anyways, I'm thinking of tattoos now because I just saw the freakiest thing. Eyeball tattoos. Don't click this link if you don't like needles (especially ones sticking into eyeballs). Which to me, means people are getting a little to carried away with body modification. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/fe ... 853274.ece

I do not have a tattoo and will probably never get one.
My wife does have a tattoo. She has an Ichthus on her ankle.

And thanks for the heads up on that link. I'll be sure to not click on anything to do with needles and eyeballs! :woof:

No tats here yet. I've always wanted a tiny ivy anklet, but knowing how much it hurts to cut your ankle when shaving...I'm chicken. The only other body modification I've indulged in over the past couple of years was having each ear pierced for the third time. That hurt more than I expected (hollow needle vs. piercing gun).

I have 2, a celtic dragon on the left arm and a tribal symbol on the right. I will be getting another one this year. I don't think they mean anything, I just like the way they look.

Where did you have them done? Thoughts on the artist?

The one I had done last year was at physical graffiti, it only took 20 mins to do. The artist did a great job, minimal pain. The first one was about 13 years ago at a dive on monroe ave in Rochester, Aaron's Alley, my aunt bought it for me, waited 3 hours to get it done, and it faded bad. I will be going back to Physical this year.

I have a tribal band on my leg and my back is done. Leg I had done when I turned 18 at Angelinas by Evan when it was on Monroe Ave. My back was done by my friend who is a tattoo artist at Lady Luck in Canadaigua.

I was checking out their website when I asked you! I've always heard great things about them, and now that they're on W. Ridge Rd...I particularly like Tom's and Joe T's work, from what I've seen on the site: http://www.physicalgraffiti.com Joe T certainly has many years of experience.

I have 5. My first one was done at Aaron's Alley, during my first year of college.
The other ones were done out here.

I wonder how he'll feel about those 30 years from now? Speaking of bad tattoos, I know someone who had a tattoo done by a carny years ago and the "artist" misspelled Harley Davidson! He had it fixed but it never looked right.
