This guy had a big pail of stingrays (I think that's what they were) he was preparing for customers at the Fish Market in Bruges, Belgium. (September 2012)

And there were crabs in all sizes - some squirming, some being boiled, and some - like these guys, just laying there.

“There’s an inconsequentiality to our lives that living in the wilderness shows up. Mountain are real, they set their limits, they set ours. They expose us, make us vulnerable and strong at the same time. “

With but a few exceptions, I don't want to duplicate here, what gets posted on Scenes from a Public Market. So if this stuff interests you, you can take peek there as well.

Here are a few more from the Vismarkt, located on the Groenerei Canal in Bruges. Less than 50 miles away, French is the official language. Here in Bruges, it's Flemish.

Buyers and sellers have been doing business here since the middle ages. It's open 5 days a week and there are often crafters and artists set up as well. I'm still kicking myself for not buying one of the beautiful woven scarves I saw there......

There are no 1 & 2 Euro bills. Just coins. Europeans are always eager to remind Americans to use them up and empty their pockets. We tend to forget they're there. Come on America - get with the program!

Excellent photos!
You would never get the fish smell out of the scarf anyways. Consider it a win
