Never heard of New York Seltzer, but then I didn't grow up in the state. Bonkers and O'Boisies sound familiar, but I don't recall actually eating either of them.

I remember them all. O'boisies were O'bositerous. I liked the Vanilla Creme NY Seltzer......and don't think I ever ate a Bonker (it's fruit candy - duh!)

We played Jarts all the time and the red tips on those cigarettes - yeah that was cool!

Oh yeah, Jarts, our favorite variation was to stand in the target circle and throw the darts at each other, getting a point if you get your opponent to step out of the circle.

What, you mean that's now how it was meant to be played? Lot more fun, for sure. We got so good with the "regular" game that we had to spice it up a bit. We would stand there for an hour and toss the darts right into the circle. Maybe we weren't far enough away, but then my cousin's lawn wasn't that big.

Whatever happened to those potato sticks? I think those were made by Planters too.

I don't have any pictures of them, but does everyone remember the Jolly Rancher sticks? Flat, about 3/4 of an inch wide and maybe 4 or 5 inches long? I used to get them at the little store down the street from me (that's no longer there) for a dime. When I played little league baseball, our team was sponsored by that store... Whenever we won a game, the owner would let us come in and get $2 worth of candy. Back then, we could get a whole hell of a lot for $2. I would load up on the Jolly Rancher sticks and the little Goetz's caramel creme candies (they were a nickel apiece).

I'd forgotten about the O'Boisies... Jarts.. I never had a set growing up, but the neighbors did. We used to play the game like L_G_D did until my friend's cousin had to go to the hospital for a punctured foot. The Jarts were strangely missing next time we went to play. So much for survival of the fittest, eh? :)

And what was the name of that silly clown that you hooked up to the garden hose??? It had the medusa-like hair that whipped around everywhere with the water coming out...
