I've seen articles about these places now and then, my brother knew someone who went on the scuba dive in one. He had a friend who lived in Plattsburgh and knew where a couple were located. Interesting stuff. Can't imagine the upkeep on one though.

Amazing article and was great viewing and reading about it. I grew up in Alden, NY. I was in cub scouts and the troop took a tour of a Nike missile site near Alden. We never saw the actual underground rooms, but we did see the massive concrete lids on the ground which housed the missiles underneath. We were told that in the event of a missile launch the lid would be blown open and flip out of the way for launch. They did have one open to view the nose cone portion of the missile!!
