It's a big weekend on the Seneca Wine Trail!

From the wine trail website:

SMOKIN' SUMMER KICKOFF

From Friday, June 10, 2011 - 01:00pm
To Sunday, June 12, 2011 - 05:00pm

Advanced ticket sales for the Smokin' Summer Kickoff have ended, but we still have many tickets that will be sold during the event at the following starting wineries:
Villa Bellangelo, Fruit Yard Winery, Hickory Hollow Wine Cellars, Lakewood Vineyards, Leidenfrost Vineyards and Tickle Hill Winery.
These tickets will be on sale starting Friday afternoon at 1:00pm, when the event starts, with regular tickets costing $35 and designated driver tickets costing $25.
We recommend you call the winery you intend to purchase your tickets at, especially if you're coming out Sunday, to make sure they still have some available.
Smokin' Summer Kickoff is a new event for 2011! Enjoy a self-guided tour around beautiful Seneca Lake. This inaugural event celebrates the rarely considered combination of grilled and summertime foods, with delicious wine! Start your summer season off with this fun-filled wine and food pairing weekend.
Co-sponsored by our friends at JAVA-GOURMET and Keuka Lake Coffee Roasters, most of the dishes attendees will be sampling will be prepared using at least one of their many fine products.

wait... so you pay to drive around.. a self-guided tour... do you get drinks of wine beyond samples...you obviously cannot benefit much from that (DUI), but I wonder how good the grilled food is.

The event weekends are typically a pretty good deal. The food is always very good and well thought out. Remember that normally you would have to pay a tasting fee at every winery. It's also a three day event.
