Imagine you are hosting someone from out of town. Where do you take them to give them a good impression of Rochester?
What about someone who has lived here for a while and you want to take them somewhere fresh?
What are Rochester's hidden treasures or best kept secrets?

I'll start:
LuGia's Ice Cream & Charbroil in Spencerport, NY. - Perry's Ice cream is local (near Akron, NY). The portions are HUGE! They have all the flavors. I like to bring people here for the first time and although I order the Kiddie-size, I push them to order a large. Then I sit back and watch a gallon of ice cream, stacked high on a small cone, drip down their arm as they struggle to eat it.

Funny you should start this topic today. I just put together a laundry list of activities/places to go for when my 15-year-old niece comes to town in a couple of weeks. The definites for me that I think she'll enjoy are Darien Lake and the Strong Museum of Play. I'm curious to see what on the list interests her most.

Any of the lakes.

To eat, there's also Charlie's Frog Pond, another local favorite on Park Ave.

I spent my first 28 years in Rochester and moved to Ft. Myers, FL. I met my husband here and had a daughter who is now 12. When I bring them home (Rochester will always be home for me) I go to Mendon Ponds Park, SeaBreeze, Bill Gray's, for a walk down Park Ave, the Strasenberg Planetarium, Highland Park, and just drive along the lake or south, through Mendon or Honeyoe Falls and further. You guys may take just going for a ride for granted, it is awful to do in Florida, there is nothing to see but flat land for miles, nice little rides are impossible down here. So go for a ride, it's beautiful land to just look at, enjoy it for me :D
