I am sorry i do not see ANY sort of development as in any way shape or form SUSTAINABLE......not unless power generation, and water usage is taken into the equation.
I do not see any form of expansion as sustainable. Why? sustainable based on what? debt?

To me this is all just pie in the sky........i do not subscribe to the BAU model so many people seem to be following at the moment.
That withstanding...... there is also the whole community consultation model....ie. delevop a plan for what values are important to the residents. Use that as the planning basis...... 20 year plan broken into 5 year plans that make the most of the skills and the ideas of a large number of people. Not this corporate back scratching fest one tends to see ...... based on $ not on aesthetics. Good valuation of the natural aesthetics actually in the long term ENHANCES the $ potential for the stakeholders because the very reason people are drawn to an area is not destroyed in the process.
