Grape Leaf Skeletonizer Moth
The caterpillars eat grape leaves, but not the veins, thus the name.

Matt, those are two more nice ones. Love the detail in the moth photo.

After a very rainy weekend, I took a walk through a nearby park. There were surprisingly few things to photograph, I guess that's just the nature of a city park.

Here is a very cooperative dragonfly -- I couldn't fit it into the frame with my entire extension tube rig, and he sat still while I modified my lens setup to remove the tubes. I'm including a closeup of the head from one of the photos with the tubes.

Here is a butterfly -- again very cooperative while I rearranged my lens setup.

And just so this challenge is more complete, here is a fly. A Thai fly.

These are great pictures. Kelly normally has quite the bug photos too.

Andy, the first three of those pics aren't coming up for me.

The Locus Borer looks like a wingless wasp, but is a longhorn beetle. The larve chew up under the bark of black locust trees. The adults feast upon the pollen of goldenrod.

This one won't win any awards, but I wanted to show what a 3mm tick looks like. I just pulled this one off my golden retriever! These are a real problem here in Thailand. They are not cause for concern about disease, but even using tick medicines I routinely pull off a dozen per day per dog during rainy season. Ugh.

Andy, are you focus stacking these? The DOF is stellar!
