Memorable Meals

Postby Mikell » Tue Apr 10, 2012 9:08 pm

OK...Kelly asked for it...
When I wasn't taking pictures of birds...
Well... I had to eat...but that didn't stop me from taking pictures...
Here are a few of the great meals I had on vacation...

Cajun Grouper Salad at Frenchy's on Clearwater Beach

The Seafood Platter (for those who can't make up their mind)

REAL homemade fresh unadulterated marmalade at Beverly's La Croisette in St. Pete's Beach

Beverley's Seafood Benny is the BEST...I go back to this place every year just for this breakfast.

Another Eggs Benedict meal...at Beso del Sol's Marker 8 restaurant

Tina's Mexican restaurant in Dunedin makes a great shrimp and crab quesadilla.

A GREAT salad at The Livingroom in Dunedin

Sea Scallops, beef and Portabello mushrooms with onions, peppers and fingerling potatoes... probably my favourite meal...another special at The Livingroom in Dunedin

This isn't just any fish and chips... we actually caught these Grey Snappers and had them cooked up blackened at Crabby Bills in Clearwater Beach....yummmm... that was fresh fish!

Grouper French with Capers at Cafe Alfresco in Dunedin

The Daily Catch - Grouper - on Dunedin Greens... an amazing salad served up at the small marina cafe on the waterfront.

A lovely little spinach salad with an even more lovely pina colada martini at Bon Appetit restaurant on the Dunedin waterfront

A light and delicious crepe with shrimp and crab...and some sugared turnips that were awesome...at Bon Appetit

Desserts at Bon Appetit ... Key Lime Cannoli and Creme Brule

And finally...our last meal in Dunedin before leaving for the airport...a place we always eat at least a couple of times...Eli's BBQ
This is the BEST BBQ you'll ever eat. Eli only opens his tiny take out only shack on the Pinellas Trail two days a week...and it's first come first served ...get there late and you're out of luck...and there is ALWAYS a line up.
I always have the pork rib meal; Alan always gets the pulled pork or pulled beef sandwiches...and we always LOVE eating at picnic tables on the trail....GOOD food!

Are you drooling yet?? :)

Not a seafood fan, but a fan of your great photos of it!

Brenda...
I love Grouper too...looked for it on the menu wherever we went.

We also went out on a fishing charter and I caught a really decent size Red Group...but it was 2 inches short of the 20 inch minimum! bummer!

It is such a good eating fish.

I don't understand anyone not liking seafood...but I married someone who doesn't!
We always have to find a restaurant that serves burgers too....but fortunately, most seafood places understand...
you can usually find the "burger" section tucked away on the back page...or bottom of the menu. :)
