Tried again this morning, kinda just to see how much I'd need to change the settings (from what I used on the full moon) to capture this one correctly. So, yeah. A lot different.


Still handheld - Canon 7D, 400/5.6 L, 1/1600 sec, f/5.6, ISO 2000 - 6:15am

Kelly, with that lens, try stopping down to f/8 or even more for this type of work as it may get you optimal sharpness (though you may have to at least use a monopod like that).

I need a long telephoto lens. The longest I have right now is 70mm. Even with a 200mm, I think it would still be too far. I like the 400mm of Kelly's. Although I can't push the ISO on my 20D anywhere near the 7D. I'd have to use a tripod.

Hey KoralT! Welcome! :meetyou:

You really wouldn't need such a high ISO. I cranked it up to accommodate the fast shutter, which was cranked up to accommodate my instability and laziness in not setting up a tripod. :lol: I'm still trying to figure this whole moon thing out.
