To become truly immortal, a work of art must escape all human limits: logic and common sense will only interfere. But once these barriers are broken, it will enter the realms of childhood visions and dreams.

Excellent sample photo, Matt.

I love the house finch shot, Mike.

Funny "bird" shot, Bill.

I'm looking forward to seeing the photos from this challenge, also to seeing if I can get good selective focus from my camera.

Maybe one just has to use more of one's imagination to "get" the story the other photos are telling. Hmmmmm?

Why isn't it possible to delete a post in this thread?

you have to edit your post in order to delete.
It's a check box at the top.

Yes, they all have stories... how about more specifically: a story or interaction between focal planes; rather than just something in focus and the rest not. Make the difference in focus communicate something rather than be a side effect of the lens. use focus as a tool to communicate.
Anyways, all the entries thus far are excellent, especially mine.

OK, lousy picture but does this one tell a story ?
I can tell you the story if it helps. One of the Peregrine falcons landed on the rail of the Pont de Rennes bridge at High Falls and was just getting comfortable when up pops this robin protecting it's nest that was on the underside of the bridge. They stared each other down for a few minutes, and the Falcon decided to fly over to the rail on the other side of the bridge. Not much of an altercation, but fun to watch.

There must be a story here somewhere....if I could only remember it.

Just kidding...it was a cabin party at Ellison Park.
