I can't believe you're posting a photo challenge at 2 in the morning on New Year's Day!

... Yes, I know I'm reading it just a few minutes after you posted it, and I'm responding. But this is the first chance I've had to be online since Tuesday. :)

Home cooking is an easy one for me...I immediately thought of the big pots of homemade chicken soup that I make all winter long. It's the first thing my kids ask me to make when they come to visit. The photo shows the basic ingredients just as they begin to come to a boil...whole chicken, vegetables and herbs. It looks so colorful, I just had to take a picture! Thanks for having a challenge I could enter it in!

Kelly...

The photo was taken last winter...and I can't remember if I stood on a stool or if I just held the camera right above the pot...I think the latter...the stove isn't so high....but it does look like I was considerably higher for the shot!

I'm not sure how appetizing these photos are but I have been experimenting with the digital macro on my camera (everything is new to me!) ...and these are some of the results. They ARE home cooking...even if they look like something you'd find on a microscope slide! They just looked more interesting this way.

My traditional turkey stuffing...a bread stuffing with cashews, black & green olives, pimentos, raisins...and other "stuff"!

I’m not sure how many people know what Chicken Riggies are. They were started here in Utica in fact they have a contest once a year for the best riggies.
