Someone down the street has these nice poppies growing in their front yard and for a couple of years now my wife Jeanette has asked me to photograph them. I have a habit of putting things off so by the time I got around to taking the pictures in the past the poppies were all withered.
This year I got over there with time to spare.

Yeah I took those shots for Jeanette and she seemed a little bummed that there weren't more closed ones! Hmmmm?

So had a wedding last weekend in New Mexico. And nothing against New Mexico, it's just hard to be a neighbor to Arizona and Utah with the grand Canyon, Sedona, Bryce, and Zion.
But this was interesting. And as is typical of me, i plotted out the composition the day before figuring the position of the sun at sunrise. I was totally wrong. And that made them better shots, IMO. Anyway, here is a look at a part of NM you don't see of hear about much. I plotted them on Flicker if you want to map it.
