February Photo Challenge: Dinner

Postby Matt » Sat Feb 02, 2008 4:46 am

The purpose of these challenges are to encourage us to get out and get the best shot of an assigned subject. It's a great way to enhance your photography skills.
Even if you think you take crappy pictures, please join in. Those of you just reading the forum and not posting, this is your chance to join in and show off.

This month's challenge: Dinner?

Something new this time around. Dinner. It could be on your plate, in a bowl, on a stick, in fact it doesn't have to be food at all if you are creative enough.

The only other rules... it has to be taken in upstate NY and it has to be taken by you!

This month's winner will get a brand new, ultra-bright, compact LED flashlight (batteries not included).

What, so no one has had a dinner worth photographing yet?
Okay, 2 LED flashlights to the winner.

It was the lack of batteries for the flashlight that turned me off.

I had a great idea for a shot but the pizza was devoured too quickly at my parents Super Bowl party before I could get it. ;)

Shana has been on a gluten free diet for years. She found out recently that an Italian deli down the street makes gluten free pizzas. So she picked one up.

I'm going to have to come up with a creative twist for this challenge. I'm afraid that anything I cook over the next few weeks isn't going to be very interesting because I've had to put Mike on a "gallbladder diet." Valentine's dinner went from thin slices of London Broil wrapped around a stuffing of blue cheese, pine nuts and spinach and pan seared, to basic London Broil (only a tiny slice for Mike) with boiled yams and green beans. Dinner is going to be a challenge in itself for awhile because I'm not normally a bland cook (which is why he had an attack, in part), but maybe I'll lose some weight in the process. :)

Nobody loves seeds more than Mimi and Daisy. So on Tuesday nights when they get a fresh bowl of their favorites for dinner, they both climb on it and fill up- with their butts sticking out of the bowl.

They are so cute! That's more or less the direction that I planned to take with the challenge, if I can find a cooperative subject. :)

He would, but his butt isn't as cute as Mimi's and Daisy's are.
