Aw. I haven't had fish in years, other than the ones who live in my garden pond (Wal-Mart goldfish) and they're pretty low maintenance, especially at this time of year when they're frozen in the ice. I'd like to have a tank again though, when I have the room.

I would love to get a tank started, but all the fish I think are cool are saltwater and I hear those are a pain.

Shana and I just adopted some dwarf hamsters. Mimmie and Daisy (yeah Shana named them).
Photos to come when they settle in.

I too would love a saltwater tank. I dated a guy in FL many years ago who had one, and beyond getting it stabilized to begin with and then creating an "ecosystem" he didn't seem to have many problems with it. But then, I didn't date him long either. I have a feeling that it could prove to be an expensive hobby; getting all of the cool stuff I'd want.

Yea, I haven't ventured into salt tanks but I have done plant tanks (with C02 injection) before, they are complicated enough, so are puffer fish too... never could quite get it stabilized, i think i need a biology degree to do that

This is Murphy. We adopted him from the SPCA when he was just a little furball.

What a handsome boy! Shepherd mix, right? I have a soft spot for GSDs. Until we adopted our little black labrasomething, all I'd ever had were German Shepherds. I've already decided that after it's time for her to cross the rainbow bridge (she's almost 14), I'm getting another shepherd. I'm considering a Bright Star pup: http://www.brightstargsd.org/

I just checked out their website, as I do periodically (even though it tugs at the heartstrings), and even though there's no way that we could get another dog right now, there's a male pup, Diesel, listed who resembles Murphy.

Hi Brenda,

We suspect he's part GS and part Golden Retriever. He's the best!

I see that she's a natural in front of the camera. She has a very promising career ahead of her, though she could stand to lose a few grams. You know what they say about the camera always adding 5 grams... :)

Great photo Matt.
