Since we now have a section for lighthouses I'll start with the State of Maine, I took these in 2005.
Lets see if we can get all the lighthouses for maine.

I'm considering a trip to arcadia this summer.
Great photos! Looks like you had perfect conditions at Bass Harbor.
I can tell this section of the forum is going to become popular.

I have a lighthouse from Maine when I visited in 2006. I have to dig it up, but I can't remember the name of it. It's off the shore from Bar Harbor. I'll post when I can find.

And Matt, Acadia is incredible.

Matt, the best time to go to Acadia is June or September. It is a madhouse in July and August. It is along drive to get there, you don't want to be hemmed in once you arrive.

Oh, the lighthouse in York that's known officially as Cape Neddick is known locally as "The Nubble." It's very cool.

I loved Acadia in early October with the foliage. Outstanding colors.

My husband lived in Maine when he was very young, and my mother-in-law tells of a time when she and her boys walked over to the lighthouse from where I'm taking the first photo---not realizing the tide was out. Oooops. By the time they decided to come back there was nothing in their return path but water. I'm not sure she ever finished the story, but somehow it must have all worked out. I married him -- and it wasn't at this lighthouse! ;)

Beautiful, Kelly! My sister-in-law lives in Kittery, but I haven't explored the coast as much a I'd like to.
