Since I'm currently experiencing the Canon "24-70mm vs 24-105mm" dilemma I'll get the 24-70mm for my camera and the 24-105mm for my desk!

Those are awesome gift ideas Matt, thank you for sharing!

They are great Ideas Matt! Although I have the 24-105F4 and I would hate to see coffee in it.

Chris I couldn't decide on which to get and I wanted the extra reach so I got the 24-105 and now when I use the lens inside I wish I had the 2.8 24-70. I think now I wish I got the 2.8 instead...I could always get closer to my subject but I can't speed the lens up. I have shot a few bands and the F4 just don't work so I end up shooting my 50mm 1.4 and when I am up close I am too close and when I am back I have people in front of me. Decisions decisions!

Having bought the latest Call of Duty game I love the "Spray and Pray" t-shirt! ;) Also like the Photoshop joke and creative finger-and-thumb sensor. Even more great ideas!

Thanks Eddiebauer I appreciate the tip! I already have the 70-200mm f/4.0, so the 24-70mm seemed a better fit than overlapping it, plus the faster speed of f/2.8. I figured the Image Stabilization wouldn't make up the difference unless things were already standing still and in good light! I plan on using it indoors at family functions anyhow so f/2.8 seems the way to go.

And now to save up for it.

Thanks to this thread I think I have managed to line up the 24-105L mug as a Christmas gift! I'm pretty sure I'm getting it for a couple of photographers I know as well. Found out that these were inspired by the 2010 Vancouver Olympics and originally given away to the Press.
