I've noticed you on there quite a bit and I see all the great responses you are getting.
It is a great feeling to have the comments and favorites pile up. I haven't had anything on Explorer yet (Champy is the "champ" of that one).
Flickr has angered me recently. I've given up on the Rate-My-Photo groups. I always submit my best work to those groups only to have a person with no talent whatsoever give me a dull rating. I always check out their profiles and thank the people that have work I admire... but then I get a 6/10 from a person that just desaturates/over-saturates/increases the contrast on their shitty photos and calls it art- and that just angers me that they don't even provide feedback as to why. Today I received a rating of 0/10 on and the guy gave the following feedback: "I hate Hamsters" - I deleted his comment.
I'm also tired of the same old "flickr cliche" images.
I'd like to put a collection of them together.
The "
desaturated self portrait holding the camera over my eye, because I'm a pro" shot that adorn's everyone's avatar.
The "
I spread out some crayola colored pencils on the table and it looks like a rainbowThe "
Tree in front of sunset"
and others I can't recal right now. Let me know if you notice any.
I have found though that over saturating your image (beyond any realistic colors) will net you twice as many views and almost as many comments.
Lately I'm addicted to finding the best of the best and using them for
inspiration.
