Wondered if anyone had posted a thread on upcoming photo contests. Whether its an area contest, online, or just overall nature submissions. It would be great to have some winners (I'm sure there already are some) that visit this site. I know I plan to start entering a few..to say boost my amateur photography resume (lol). For instance the Nature Conservancy and many other nature magazines seem to run them every year and some every month.

I recently saw this too, wasn't sure when they were accepting photo submissions. I have the magazine with last years winners, some very good photos. The prizes seem really good even though there is a submission fee.

Agreed. I don't think that $15 is an unreasonable fee when you can submit up to 20 photos. It sounds like fun!

Found this on a flickr group "Rochester". Some of you may want to submit a couple photos that are in the Rochester area.

Here's an opportunity to show some prints that you may or may not have heard about. I know some of you local yokels participated last year, but I didn't get my act together.

High Falls Fine Art Gallery (on Brown's Race in an old mill building overlooking the falls) is having their annual juried photography exhibit, "A Photographer's Path 11" in March. They are accepting submissions Feb 13-17.

They're all about supporting local artists, and are likely to accept at least one print from every photographer who submits. They want 11x14 prints or larger, white mats, black metal frames, with no signatures or titles on the front. (You'll be able to sign them after judging, and of course they put up placards with your name, title, website, etc.) 1-3 submissions for an entry fee of $15. All prints are for sale, price set by the photographer, and the gallery takes 25% commission on sales.

So get your best stuff printed up and framed! Their web site isn't up to date, so stop by there to pick up the entry form or ask Sally questions
