I have been trying to come up with how to make a NYF shirt cool looking. Maybe a vintage style? And a slogan.
This isn't cool?
Another option would be to have a contest that people could submit design suggestions and everyone would vote on their favorite. You could have it both here on the forum and also on Facebook for a greater reach. Then the winning shirt design could receive say $1 commission on each sale or something. It might help promote the website.
I would be interested in a T shirt with NY Falls logo and some kind of message as to what we all try to do when we go out to take photographs! Something like this:
Maybe not quite the right wording? BUT you get the idea.
Is the T-shirt going to be insulated? It's starting to get cold here! LMBO!

I may end up doing this in 2014, wince the bottom dropped out on ad banner revenue and seemingly no one wants to buy prints anymore. If i can sell shirts and a reasonable price & make some cash to contribute to site operations then i would do it. Right now, a handful of orders would be a loss.
I wanted to do the "Scenes from a public market" and design it to be less tied to the shirt and more of a general "local farm market pride" shirt, and thus sell it to a wider audience. I would now want to do that with a NYFalls shirt.
Here's what I'm offering
I will open a storefront through one of those shirt printing services soon, so i can measure the costs and potential revenue of selling. Then... if you are a fan, and want a shirt, or want one of your design... propose it like Marty did. I will personally design the art for a professional-looking shirt based on that style, and throw it up on the marketplace for you to order at cost (if they let me). The only thing I ask, is that if you do make a cool shirt that I think would sell and help fund the site, that I am allowed to do that in the future.
Well I hope you develop a successful revenue model for the site. Maybe you could link up with local attractions near the waterfalls to advertise for them. Or develop purchases through the site to the attractions.
Thank you. It has been a struggle. It's a popular high bandwidth site and I only work part time on it. 99% of that time is me working on content. I will have to spend more time working on getting it to make enough revenue to afford to do more cool things.
