Fishing Photos

Postby champy1013 » Mon Dec 17, 2007 7:17 pm

This should be a sticky - or separate topic.

Actually - if you do want to expand this, it should definitely be a separate topic, so people can post their trip pics here.

how about we rename this to Matt's bragging thread?

Some of those seem digitally size enhanced

I'll make this thread a sticky.
how about posting locations with each shot?

that would be a good name for it! Hopefully we can get enough people to come on here and drop fishing reports

It was funny I took these within a few minutes of each other today.

So who's the better fisher...

The fisherman...

or the duck...

Local fish...lots of wild fish this year, which is a good sign.

I caught this 26lb Coho in the "Lower Meadows" pool of the Salmon River just east of the estuary. He was caught on a size 6 fly (pattern=Dave's SA) on 1X 9lb tippet (leader) on September 27th, 2007. The fish was weighed on 2 different scales and verified before release. Yes, I did say "release" right there. Would've been a record, but I always practice catch-and-release with trout and salmon.

Here is a painting done by a friend Josie Etter (http://sketchandrelease.com). It is full-scale, therefore I still cannot afford a frame for it. ;)

What a big, handsome boy! Yes, I mean the fish! Great catch, Jeff. I really like the sketch and release idea too, as much as I love salmon. :yum:

He did. I could barely hold him up after that fight. If he wasn't tired from his swim upstream from the estuary I would've NEVER landed him. He would've been gone like greased lightning!
