The recent rains have really kicked the falls up a couple notches. These are the shots I've wanted to get for a long time. The first and third are stitched together from two shots each.

This is the least obstructed view from the roadside. The "falls" in the lower part falls through a sluice pipe that goes under the road (right under my feet as it was in this picture).

Get down in the gully, and this is what you can see. As I've said before, there is more above this than you can see here. It would be very tricky to get up there to get good shots with this amount of flow, and I was not in _that_ adventerous a mood today. :)

I grew up in Owego, during the 60's, and we used to ride out bikes out to picnic, hike, and swim these falls in the summer. My understanding is that somewhere along the line someone got hurt, and so now it is posted. It is not a public park, but it is right alongside the road and no residence in sight, so hard to monitor..which is why we probably got away with it for as long as we did. Thanks for the pics, they brought back great memories. We still live in the area but haven't gone back since being told it was posted.

Can we get close to them? I have a couple who would love to do engagement photos there.

I went here today. It is steep to get up. I didn't hear water so I wandered around for awhile until I found the gully. It was empty. There hasn't been rain in awhile. I will try again after a heavy rainfall.
