This is good. The current lot seems to fill up pretty quick.

We were thinking of spending a half-day at the park on our way to Toronto from Brooklyn. Our kids are 3 and 4 1/2 years old, and we were wondering if it would be too difficult for them to do the walking, even if it is only the way down (they are not the best walker). If you think it is not a good idea, where in the are would you recommend that is not as difficult?
Thanks.

If you were to do it, I would definitely go from the top down. It's still a healthy hike, no matter how you tackle it. I'm all about Taughannock Falls State Park. The walk to the falls is flat and only about 15 - 20 minutes one way. There's a beach area on the lake side of the park with a lifeguard and a concession stand. It's a great place to take kids.

Has anyone been to Watkins Glen in the fall? Any idea if it will still look good in mid-October?

totally depends on the weather - a few years ago when it was warm in fall, everything was still green. Watch the foliage reports on the news and plan your trip accordingly
