I took my new Nikon L100 out and took a few pictures of a couple of creeks in my area. The camera has 10.1 MP and a 15x zoom lens on it. And I got the software up and running on my computer too. ( you don't need SP3 either) !!
Below are a couple of pictures I took. Looking forward to my next quest now !

I think that camera is working great for you. But probably you are working well for it too. It looks like you are crafting some classic compositions there.

Anyone know anything about Wagener Glen? I stopped by there a few weekends ago and found postings. I wrote down the information and sent them a letter to request permission, but havent heard back from anyone. Supposedly owned by the WE & PK Trust (whoever that is).

Thank you Matt for the complement ! In the last few months I've viewed topo maps around my area and went to some possible waterfalls sites. Two that came up within the last couple of weekends look good BUT have to "creek walked", because all the land is posted on both sides of them. There located in Amber NY, Each one has a stream flowing to the main road, "Otisco valley road". The Amber gulf stream was running fairly well, even though we haven't had much rain in past. The other just south of amber gulf was less flowing. I use USGA topo maps, thank you to the person that posted to website !! The "GEO" toolbar works really nice too. My new waterfalls is on a friends private family land. He asked me to come over and take pictures of it for his family and myself too. He tells me that in parts of the waterfalls, you have to climb up by tree trunks because of the steep banks. Looking forward to going there this weekend, we've been getting rain here the other day and some more Thursday & Friday too. I'll go Sunday suppose to be a nice day... PG

I just got done uploading my new waterfalls pictures to my webpage: http://community.webshots.com/album/573 ... ty&start=0. Here is one of the pictures from the collection. I also put in a small map to show our route. If there's ever a next time for me ? I'll be sure to take ropes and my harnese and just start at the top and work my way down to the bottom. And only have climb out once. It took us about 2 1/2 hours to complete the trip. Below is a picture of part of my adventure !

You said that the land was posted on both sides - I would be very, very careful when stream walking then. Generally speaking, if the land on both sides of a stream bed is posted, you cannot enter unless it is a navigable body of water, and then you must be in a craft of some type because property designations go into the streambed as well. I did a lot of research on this because I was trying to figure out if I could fish in an area where a woman had posted the land - turns out I couldn't...even if I was in a boat and they don't allow fishing, I could only use the boat for transport from point a to b.....

Just stopped in to see whats going on ! I plan on going back to Newton Falls in spring time to capture some pictures and video of the main falls. Also I've was out on a delivery recently and talked with a customer about waterfalls in his area. It seems he has one on his property near his cabin. I've checked maps and it seems nobody else even considered this area. He says the falls is about 25 feet high and the it's mostly shale rock in and around falls. I'm looking forward to getting some pictures and videos of this one also in spring thaw.. I put a test video clip on my webpage of the main falls in Marcellus,NY. Just to try out the video aspect on my new camera. I can't believe all the great shots in here. Your all amazing when it comes to taking pictures !!! I love coming in and viewing the pictures - Keep up the great work ! PG

A few weeks ago I went out for a drive and found a couple small waterfalls. I took pictures of them, just to put on my computer for background pics. I did not notice anything unusual in the pictures I was taking UNTIL I put one of them on my desktop. In the forground mid-stream was a rock that had a face of what looked like a "barking dog head" on it.

This is a first for me, never found something like this in any of my picture takings. Thought I'd shsre it with everyone here !
Looking forward to spring too ! I have a waterfalls that no one knows about thats approx. 25 feet tall on private property. I know the owner from delivering paint supplies too. Should be interesting to shoot. It's in the southern tully area. Also my friend wants me to come back and take pictures of the main falls at his place in spring - Newton Falls. The ravine has such steep sides with all the run-off and spring fed, that it should make for some hopefully great pictures and videos too !

Montville Falls and Decker Falls: I've looked at different topo maps and could actually locate where these two were ! Finally I found a website that actually had a picture of Montville Falls and it's coordinates to it. I've been using Google-Earth, and if you look at Montville / Decker Falls area. There are another four falls west & North there position that aren't named. I was going to visit here and creek walk up from St. Partrick's Cemetary. Now it's out of the question for me with back condition.
Using Google-earth, I measured a path of about 1100 feet of creek walking up to these two Falls. The website I used was
www.gowaterfalling.com , Hopefully someone in here can get some great photos of these other waterfalls too !

If I remember correctly, Matt Champlin did some exploring, found a private falls near there an talked to the owner. I think.
